Tax Practitioner Recognition

Before applying to be a tax practitioner with IRBA as your Recognised Controlling Body you are required to complete SARS Tax Practitioner Readiness Programme and pass an assessment in this regard. For further information contact cgarbutt@irba.co.za.

Application for recognition as a tax practitioner by the IRBA with the IRBA as your RCB is on Form 4. This form is available on our website and should be printed, completed, signed and emailed to us at registry@irba.co.za together with your proof of payment.

Application for recognition as a tax practitioner with IRBA as your RCB may not be made through the website.

The registration fee for the period 1 April 2022 to 31 March 2023 is R3,850 and this fee is not pro-rated during the course of the year.

Submission of an incomplete application form, or the wrong fees, will cause delays.

On approval of your application, you will receive an email confirming that you have been recognised as a tax practitioner with the IRBA as your RCB.

Your tax practitioner details will then be uploaded to SARS.
